Abstract
912,619. Supply systems for inductionheating apparatus. DEUTSCHE EDELSTAHLWERKE A.G., and ALLGEMEINE ELEKTRICITATS. - GESELLSCHAFT. April 13, 1959 [April 14, 1958], No. 12494/59. Class 38 (4). An induction-heating installation comprises at least two heating apparatus 4, 5, 6, each of which comprises at least two induction heaters 7, 9; 17, 19; or 27, 29; one heater of each set 7, 17, 27 being connected to a pair of busbars 1 and which have no control means associated therewith whilst the other heater of each set 9, 19, 29 is supplied by way of a frequency changer 11, 21, 31, respectively. The frequency changers may be supplied from a normal mains supply or from the bus-bars 1 which are at a frequency of 3,000 cycles per second. The power supply to the heaters 9, 19, 29 is controlled by controlling the frequency changers by switching in capacitors such as 10 or by changing the D.C. control current to certain of the components therein.
