In, a low-frequency induction furnace, the heating coil is divided into three equal parts which may be serially connected for heating as a single phase load together with an L.C. line current balancing arrangement, or in star or delta to the same supply as an induction stirrer. Phase compensating capacitors 16, 17 may be provided.
