Abstract
911,031. Winding dynamo-electric machines. FORT WAYNE TOOL & DIE Inc. March 6, 1961 [Dec. 14, 1960], No. 8078/61. Class 35. [Also in Group XXIV] Stator winding apparatus comprises a driving shaft 18 connected through crank linkage 22 to a shaft 14 splined for reciprocation through a gear 42, two wires 16 being fed through the shaft to needles 12 dispensing the wire into the slots of an internally slotted dynamo-electric machine stator core member (not shown), a cam drum 28 fast on the driving shaft having a groove 30 engaged by a follower on a lever pivoting at 36 and connected to a rack 40 meshing the gear 42 which is accordingly oscillated back and forth together with the splined shaft 14 as the latter reciprocates. The gear 42 is so constructed that it may be adjusted to take up backlash caused by wear &c. in its spline connection with the shaft 14 (see Group XXIV).
