1493901 Multi-spindle nut tapping machines YUAN HO LEE 8 Jan 1976 00696/76 Heading B3N A multi-spindle nut tapping machine comprises a plurality of tap-driving spindles 41 mounted radially about a central drive shaft 10 by which they may be driven in pairs via bevel gears 50, 51 shafts 52 and gears 53, 42. A central cam 20, 21 on shaft 10 actuates spring-loaded push-rods 30 via cam follower rollers 32 to push nut blanks 70 from feed guide 80 on to the cutting heads 40a of curved shank taps 40 in stationary guides 44. In an alternative arrangement, Fig. 3 (not shown), shaft 10 drives shafts 41 directly via bevel gears (50a, 42a).
