Abstract

910,510. Spray-producers. DEVILBISS CO. Sept. 2, 1960, No. 30310/60. Class 69 (3). A spray gun for spraying an article with a coating material formed of two liquids which react chemically when combined, has a tip 25 with an outlet 24 through which one liquid is fed, an outer tip 26 providing a space 34 with an outlet concentric with the outlet 24 through which a second liquid is passed, and a cap 15 with outlets 37, 38 through which atomizing air is delivered. Thus the two liquids, separately fed to the gun, are mixed and atomized outside the gun. Needle valves 22 and 32 control liquid flow through the parts 25 and 26 respectively, and a valve 44 controls the air flow; a trigger 13 operates all the valves. The sequence in which the valves 22 and 32 are opened by the trigger may be changed by adjusting a nut 47, Fig. 4. The outlet from the outer tip 26 may be annular or it may comprise a ring of holes or slots. The air outlet 37 may be annular or consist of a ring of holes, and may be directed axially, while the outlets 38 are directed inwardly towards the liquid streams.
