An earth working rotor of the kind having at least one straight earth cutting tool 18 mounted so that it can be adjusted to compensate for the wearing away of an operative end is characterized in that a guide 12, 13 or 14 is formed with a transverse bridge 16 forming a housing which tapers in the direction of the length of the guide and in which the tool 18 is held by a correspondingly tapering resilient clamping member 20 of channel section which wedgingly engages between the tool and the bridge. As shown the tools 18 are of "V" cross-section and are received in the guides 12, 13, 14 of similar cross-section which are welded to plates 11 attached to a hollow shaft 10.
