909,770. Expanding pulley gear. LEWELLEN MFG. CO. Jan. 31, 1961, No. 3577/61. Class 80 (2). Equal and opposite axial movement of both flanges 30, 34 of an expanding pulley is enforced by a lever 42 pivotally carried by an axially fixed driving sleeve 22 and engaging slots 50, 58 in freely mounted sleeve 32, 36 integral with the respective flanges and keyed together by the lever 42 which also engages elongated slots 52, 54 in the sleeves. Adjustment is effected by turning a hand wheel 20 of a threaded sleeve 68 which screws in a rotationally fixed sleeve 80, the sleeves 68, 80 being connected to the sleeves 32, 36 by thrust bearings 64, 82. Stops 92, 94 limit rotational movement of the sleeve 68.
