Abstract

909,674. Lamp-holders. REEVES & CO. (BIRMINGHAM) Ltd. May 10, 1961 [May 10, 1960], No. 16425/60. Class 38 (1). In a lamp-holder of the kind comprising a dome 3 which is screwed upon and spans one end of a cylindrical body 1 and is provided, upon and externally of its crown, with a concentric tapped pommel 6, the pommel has an axial bore divided into two coaxial portions 10, 11 of different diameters by a shoulder 9, and is fixed to dome 3 with the smaller diameter bore portion 10 opening to the interior of the dome, the larger diameter bore portion 11 being tapped to enable the lamp-holder to be screwed on to a fitting such as conduit 13 until the rim of the conduit abuts the shoulder 9. A pair of registering holes is drilled in the said crown and the pommel 6, the hole in the pommel opening partly into portion 11 and partly into the adjacent end of a longitudinal groove drilled in the wall thereof, and a self-tapping screw 12 is screwed into the registering holes to prevent rotation of the lamp-holder relative to the conduit.
