Abstract
901,514. Screwing-up nipples. NEUE ARGUS G.m.b.H. Dec. 20, 1960 [Feb. 10, 1960], No. 43781/60. Class 83 (3). [Also in Group XXVIII] In a tool for screwing a hose nipple 2 into a hose socket 1 surrounding a hose end 3, an assembling mandrel 5 is adapted to project entirely through the hose nipple and fit exactly into the nipple bore, the mandrel 5 having the same axial splining as the inner wall of the nipple 2. As shown, the mandrel 5 is screwed to a member 12, the connection being secured by a bolt 13. A housing part 7 equipped with handles 8, 9 is screwed on to the member 12. The part 7 has a housing part 6 screwed thereto and also a bore 12<SP>1</SP> through which is slidable a pin 10 mounted by means of a transverse member 11 to the handle 9. When, as is shown, the nipple 2 has been screwed into the socket 1 the pin 10 is withdrawn and further rotation of the tool withdraws the mandrel from the nipple.
