Abstract

908,304. Protective cut-out systems. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGS - G.m.b.H. July 1, 1960 [July 2, 1959], No. 23090/60. Addition to 903,635. Class 38 (5). Shorted turns in the armature of a direct current machine are detected by means of a switching transistor, connected to a stator winding, excited only by armature flux, the transistor being coupled to a counter. When a fault occurs in the armature of a D.C. motor, voltage pulses are induced in the stator winding. The transistor is arranged to conduct when pulses exceed a certain amplitude so that the counter operates an alarm or disconnects the motor when a predetermined number of such pulses have been received.
