Abstract
907,604. Packages. PRATT MANUFACTURING CORPORATION. Jan. 14, 1961, No. 1653/61. Class 94(1). A package for flat articles such as surgical supplies is made by placing two articles 15 on a blank, Fig. 2, folding over end panels 17, folding about centre line 16 so that the end panels may be breakably connected together by adhesive 19 and securing the longitudinal edges. The securing may be by folding and adhessively connecting spaced points 23 along these edges so as to allow air to escape from the package during sterilisation; alternatively these edges may be heat sealed directly to each other. In a modification, Fig. 9, extensions 125 are added on the end panels 17 to provide an opening tab. These extensions may be sealed together as shown. Alternatively the upper edges of the extensions may be folded over together and sealed, Fig. 10 (not shown).
