Abstract
The invention relates to a physiological saline solution containing 0.5% phenol for the diagnostic test of cancer, which comprises nucleohistone of (a) chorionic villi of placenta of human beings or animals or (b) cancer tissue. The chorionic villi or cancer tissue is extracted with water or an aqueous solution of sodium chloride and nucleoprotein precipitated by adjusting the pH of the extract to 4.5 by the addition of acid, or calcium chloride to 0.01 mole. concentration or sodium chloride to 0.14 mole. concentration, the precipitate is dissolved in aqueous solution and nucleohistone separated by known methods for separating nucleic acid from aqueous solution. Thus the precipitate may be dissolved in aqueous sodium chloride and dialysed against aqueous sodium chloride to remove protamine. The solution in the dialysis bag is heated to 80 DEG C. for 1 minute, filtered and ethanol added to precipitate nucleohistone which is dried and then dissolved in physiological saline solution containing 0.5% phenol.
