906,704. Typewriters &c. INTERNATIONAL COMPUTERS & TABULATORS Ltd. March 30, 1960 [June 15, 1959], No. 20466/59. Class 100 (4). Paper feeding apparatus for a stylus type-printing mechanism has webs 1, 2 drawn by tractor feed devices over a platen 3 together with a transfer media web 4. The transfer web 4 is released from a roll 5 by a feed roller 24 operated by a solenoid 29 during spacing operations and is drawn over the platen during character printing by the friction this causes between the webs 1, 2 and 4. The webs 1, 2 are tensioned before they reach the platen by passing over rollers 10, 11 having torsion-springs 14, 15 where the webs are engaged by rollers 16, 17 mounted on arms 18, 19 rotatable on spindles 20, 21 provided with torsion springs by which the desired web tension can be pre-set.
