888,015. Typewriters &c. SMITH & SON (ALACRA) Ltd., W. H. March 20, 1959 [March 20, 1958], No. 8930/58. Class 100(4) A typewriter, tabulator or like recording machine comprises a platen 10, pin-wheel feeds 11 on the outfeed side of the platen, drawing webs of paper 13, 14 past a printing position, means on the infeed side of the platen for releasing one or more webs of duplicating material 16 to travel at a slower speed than the webs 13, 14, and arranged between the paper webs and the duplicating webs 16 sheets of polytetrafluoroethylene 20, 21 or like plastic material to prevent frictional grip between the webs. The sheets of 20, 21 are secured to pegs 26 on stiff crossmembers 24, 25 which may be hinged to one side 27 only. Specifications 848,797 and 888,016 are referred to.
