In an auxiliary toilet seat comprising a platform 10 with a hole 12 smaller than the hole through a standard toilet seat, and having means on its undersurface to pass through the hole in the larger seat to hold the platform 10 thereon by engaging beneath it, the engaging means comprises at least one locating member 13, as shown, adjustable horizontally and vertically and a vertically adjustable member 14, pivoted as shown, loaded by spring means 19 to move into its engaging position to mount the platform, from which position it is disengagable by moving the member 14 against the spring pressure. A rigid back support 11 extends from the platform 10. In the form shown there are two members 13, on a common transverse line of the platform 10 and symmetrical about its longitudinal centre line, adjustable laterally thereof, and the member 14 pivots on a vertical axis on the platform's longitudinal centre line, both members being positioned where shown. Each member 13 is mounted on a rod 16, for adjustment therealong, which is mounted on a transverse rod 20 to be laterally adjustable of the platform. The members 13, 14 are resilient and have heads 15 to engage beneath the standard toilet seat. The platform 10 may be of thin sheet synthetic plastics material whereas the periphery thereof and the hole therein each have downwardly-depending rims 10a, 12a, the edge of the wall 11 having a rim 11a substantially at right angles to the adjacent surface. A shield 24 is at the front of the platform 10 and may be detachable or be a fixture, further details in these respects being given in the Provisional Specifications.
