<PICT:0906078/IV (b)/1> Apparatus for leading textile fabric b into or out of a pressure chamber 71 in a fluidtight manner comprises two rollers 4, 41, set opposite each other in an inlet or outlet 2, the fluid pressure in said chamber 1 being caused to act upon one or both of the rollers to force them towards each other. As shown, the rollers 4, 41 are coated with soft rubber 3, 31 and around the periphery of each roller are arranged three sealing strips 5, 6, 7 and 51, 61, 71 each pressed against the respective rollers by means of pressure loading devices 8, 9, 10 and 81, 91, 101 which may be fluid pressure loaded These sealing strips define pressure-loading chambers 11, 111 and 12. Fluid under pressure is supplied from chamber 1 to chambers 11, 111 through pipes 13, 131 and the fluid in chamber 1 acts directly on the rollers at 12. The arrangement is such that loading from chambers 11, 111 is greater than that from chamber 12 so that the rollers are urged towards each other. One of the rollers may be driven to feed the fabric into the chamber and there are preferably guide rollers inside the chamber to guide the fabric in loops through the chamber. There is a similar arrangement at the other end of the chamber to seal the outlet therefrom. In a second embodiment an intermediate roller is interposed between the rollers 4, 41 so that the fabric can be led into the chamber between roller 4 and the intermediate roller and out from the chamber between the intermediate roller and the roller 41.
