950,349. Textile treating apparatus. ASAHI KASEI KOGYO KABUSHIKI KAISHA. Dec. 4,1961 [Dec. 6, 1960], No. 43359/61. Heading D1L. Apparatus for the continuous treatment of textile fibres with steam under pressure at a temperature exceeding 100‹C., comprises a chamber for the treatment of a 'bundle' of textile fibres and a plurability of pressure cells provided at the input and output ends of the chamber, each of said cells having a discharge pipe for discharging steam &c. as well as an inlet or outlet for the 'bundle' of fibres. In the embodiment shown textile yarn, silver &c., 1 passes in the direction of the arrow into a pressure cell 2 provided at the inlet end of the pressure treating chamber 4 through a hole 3 and subsequently into adjacent pressure cell 2<SP>1</SP> at higher pressures until it is finally fed into the chamber 4. The material passes out of the chamber 4 through a similar series of pressure cells of decreasing pressure. Each cell is provided with a discharge pipe 7, 7<SP>1</SP>, 10, 10<SP>1</SP> provided with valves 8, 8<SP>1</SP>, 11 and 11<SP>1</SP>. In a second embodiment chamber 4 is in the form of a J and in a further embodiment the chamber is provided with conveyer means.
