904,962. Electrodeposition. GUIDICI, F. April 5, 1960 [April 10, 1959], No. 12035/60. Class 41. An anode for high-speed electrodeposition, e.g. chromium plating, comprises a perforated body 1 of lead or lead alloy having a porous non- conductive covering 7 which is adapted to permit free circulation of electrolyte and removal of evolved gases. The body 1 may be a flexible blade, as shown, or a hollow tube closed at one end, and threads 6 which may be corrugated, space the covering 7 from the body 1. The threads 6 and the covering 7 may be of polyisopropylene or polytetrafluorethylene. A cable 4 passes through an insulating handle 5, which, where the body 1 is a tube, is connected to the body 1 by a flexible copper blade. The anodes may be employed in electrolytic baths, or electrolyte may be led to the interior of the hollow tube 1, no bath being then required.
