Abstract

903,630. Stoves. SIEVERT A.B., MAX. May 11, 1959 [May 12, 1958], No. 16056/59. Class 126. [Also in Group XIII] The upper part of a gas burner 12 projects into a widened base portion 32, 34 of a liquid container 22 connected at 28 and 30 to, e.g. the cooling liquid system of a motor vehicle engine. A helical baffle 36 increases heat-exchange between the combustion gases and the inner wall 24 of the container 22. The burner is ignited by an ignition plug 46 connected to the starting battery of the vehicle and combustion is extinguished by means of a bimetallic spring 50 which when heated by combustion gases passing to outlets 42 moves a rod 52 downwards, thus causing a circuit-breaker 62 to cut off the supply of current to the plug 46.
