Abstract

[Also in Divisions P3-F4] In an igniter arrangement for a railway track gas-fired heater a catalytic igniter filament 21 is energized by a secondary cell 15 and when the burner is ignited a bi-metallic strip 25 deforms to de-energize the filament and complete a charging circuit for the cell including a thermoelectric generator 18 heated by the flame and comprising wafer units of iron disilicide.
