Abstract

The heating boiler has an inset (1) for conveying flames and flue gas and a housing (25) of steel sheet for conveying water. The inset (1) has on its inner surface (5) ridges (9), which support the furnace casing (7). The inset (1) is designed over at least part of its length as a slightly tapering truncated cone converging in the direction of the waste gas side. Provided at least in the lower, burner-side end area (22) is a condensate damming element (23). The condensate gathering at the discharge side can in this way flow forwards into the hotter area of the boiler, but cannot reach the seal (34) of the closures (33), nor can it escape there. The housing wall cannot therefore be attacked from the outside by the condensate.
