A nozzle for spraying refractory material on to the walls of a furnace comprises a cylinder 13 closed at one end by a threaded plug 16 and fed at the other by a pipe 12, and spray issues from a fan-shaped opening 17 in its side wall and spaced from the inner end wall of the plug. The walls 18 of the opening are parallel and extend perpendicular to the nozzle axis, and the side walls 19 extend radially from that axis. Specification, 833,026 is referred to.
