Abstract

902,644. Hot water boilers. TRIANCO Ltd. Oct. 24, 1958 [Nov. 4, 1957], No. 34390/57. Class 64 (1). [Also in Group XII] A boiler 6 is heated by flue tubes 7 provided with spiral baffles 8 and leading to a flue box 17 with an upwardly and rearwardly sloping roof from a combustion chamber with a burner 4 mounted in the front wall, which projects forwardly of the front of the heat-exchange unit. The sloping front wall part and the combustion chamber has a water jacket 12, 9, which is connected to the boiler 6 by manifolds 10. The boiler may be fired by solid fuel, the front wall panel carrying the burner being replaced by a wall panel carrying a firing door and an ashpit door, the refractory lining of the combustion chamber being removed and a grate installed. To increase the draught with solid fuel, the baffles 8 may be removed.
