Abstract

902,601. Making cartons. JAGENBERGWERKE A.G. April 1, 1960 [May 29, 1959], No. .11533/60. Class 18. To provide a carton having a liquid-tight cap fitted to its lower end the blank for the cap is shaped as shown in any one of Figs. 7-10 whereby the irregular distribution of creases is obviated. The depth of the indentations at the outer edge of the blank for the cap is less than the width of the rim of the cap. The body 1 of the carton has a glued longitudinal seam and the cap is originally flat or partly pre-shaped. To form the cap, the body is mounted on a mandrel, a punch descends and holds the cap blank against the mandrel end and a drawing die ring bends the rim of the cap down against the body.
