Abstract

1,266,235. Cartons. CARTONNAGES ET IMPRIMERIES DE L'ISLE DE FRANCE ET SOC. D'ETUDES DE CARTONNAGES REUNIS. 10 June, 1969 [21 June, 1968], No. 29352/69. Heading B8P. A carton to hold a bottle has a tubular body portion with separate end portions, the lower end portion forming a pedestal for the base of the bottle and the upper end portion having an aperture to locate the bottle neck. The carton is made of cardboard and has corrugated cardboard linings. The body is formed of four panels hinged to one another and has top flaps 29 folded down into the body and flaps 33a-33d hinged to the lower end of each body panel which are also folded to the inside of the tubular body. Recesses 34 and protuberances 36 on flaps 33 engage one another. Linings 4 lie between flaps 33 and the body panels. The upper end portion, Fig. 10, is formed of an outer blank and is stiffened by an inner member folded from a separate blank (Fig. 2). The lower, or pedestal, end portion is formed of several blanks (Figs. 5-9) subsequently folded and arranged with respect to one another to produce the form shown in Fig. 15.
