Abstract

902,555. Extruding. BALDWIN-LIMAHAMILTON CORPORATION. Dec. 28, 1960 [Dec. 29, 1959], No. 44418/60. Class 83 (4). A metal working press, particularly a tube extrusion press, has a mandrel 18 screwed to an adapter 40 having a bayonet pin 50 adapted to engage within a bayonet socket 70 of a mandrel holder 16. The adapter 40 has a terminal portion 56 with an annular groove 60 containing two opposite abutments; the portion 60 enters a bore 78 of the holder 16 and the abutments co-operate with an abutment 82 to limit the turning movement of the mandrel when locking the bayonet connection. Flats 30, 48 are provided on the mandrel to receive a spanner.
