[Also in Division F2] Apparatus for assembling a frusto -conical ring 8 in a groove 5 of a threaded coupling member 2 comprises a tool 17 with a recess 16 embracing the outside diameter of the ring, and a tool 18 with a rib 19, the ring 8 being flattened between the tools into engagement with the base of the groove, Fig. 7 (not shown), while the recess 16 prevents expansion of the outer diameter of the ring. Parts of the tool 18 may be hinged together.
