Abstract

1509858 Sealing washer ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS Inc 27 Sept 1976 [29 Sept 1975] 39964/76 Heading F2H A sealing washer assembly comprises a rigid clamping member 10 and a resilient sealing washer 24, the clamping member 10 having a flat annular top wall 12, an outer wall 14 extending axially from the outer periphery of the top wall, and an inner wall 16 extending in the same direction as the outer wall from the inner periphery of the top wall, the inner wall 16 being of lesser axial extent than the outer wall 14, and the sealing washer 24 being a flat annular washer with an inner diameter D3 less than the inner diameter D1 of the inner wall 16 and an outer diameter D4 less than the inner diameter D2 of the outer wall 14, the thickness t 1 of the sealing washer being greater than the difference between the axial extents of the outer and inner walls. As shown, the inner wall 16 is frustoconical.
