Abstract

901,859. Reservoir pens. VENUS PENCIL CO. Ltd. Feb. 23, 1959, No. 6238/59. Addition to 739,787. Class 146 (3). In a retractible ball-point pen wherein the writing unit 2 is urged inwardly of the barrel 1 by a spring 6, the unit 2 is projected when a plunger 12 is depressed, and a separate latch 17, which is slidably arranged between the plunger and dome-shaped plug 9 on the unit 2, is adapted to be rocked when it is opposite a slot 22 in the barrel to engage the slot and thus hold the unit 2 in writing position. The plunger 12 is slidable in a cap 11 fixed in the barrel 1, and has a domeshaped end bearing on the top 19 of the latch 17. The latch comprises a narrow L-shaped member provided with a cam-shaped edge 20 which engages the plug 9, and it is guided for longitudinal movement in a slot in a disc-like member extending across the barrel.
