Abstract
768,334. Reservoir pens. SHAW REGENT, Ltd., and SHAW, J. H. April 27, 1955, No. 12152/55. Class 146(3). A reservoir pen comprises a barrel 18, a ballpoint pen unit 19 slidable in the barrel 18, a spring 17 urging the unit 19 into retracted position within the barrel 18, a plunger 14 for actuating the unit axially of the barrel into writing position, and a spring-urged locking member 13 slidable transversely of the barrel through an aperture in the barrel, the member 13 having an aperture through which the plunger passes, and spaced-apart shoulders on the plunger 14 which engage the member 13 to hold the unit 19 in writing position and retracted position. The member 13 is pressed upwardly by a spring 6, such that it engages the shoulder formed on the plunger between parts 10 and 11. When the plunger 14 is depressed the unit 19 is projected, such that the member 13 engages the shoulder on the plunger formed between parts 11 and 12. Depression of the member 13 permits the unit 19 to be retracted by the spring 17.
