Abstract

901,466. Transistor bistable circuits. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. March 13, 1959 [March 15, 1958], No. 8791/59. Class 40 [6). A bistable circuit of a type comprising two transistors having their collector and base electrodes cross-coupled has the input triggering voltage applied to the base electrode of one transistor through a rectifier of a type having a threshold voltage which must be exceeded if triggering of the circuit is to be effected. Transistors 1 and 2 have their base and collector electrodes cross-coupled and positive input pulses are applied through a diode 14 so that if the pulses are of sufficient amplitude transistor 1 is cut off and transistor 2 rendered conducting. The original condition may be restored by operating a contact 16. The diode 14 prevents the circuit being restored to its initial condition by negative pulses on the input line and also prevents operation of the circuit by positive pulses less than the threshold value of the diode. A diode 15 limits the positive voltage swing at the base of transistor 1 and a further diode 13 removes negative half-cycles of the incoming alternating current triggering wave.
