Abstract

900,482. Harvesting root-crops. DYSON, J. D., and DYSON, C. R. April 13, 1959 [Jan. 13, 1958], No. 1244/58. Class 6(3). In a beet-harvesting machine the digging shares 4 are carried on arms 8 pivotally connected to, and vertically adjustable on, members 10 slidably adjustable fore-and-aft of the machine, the arms co-operating with means 16, 17 whereby their inclination relatively to the vertical can be varied. The arms are mounted on pivot-bolts 9 vertically adjustable in slots 15 in the triangular plates 10, themselves adjustable on the main frame 1 through bolts 11 and slots 12. The angular adjustment comprises adjusting screws 16, 17 threaded through lugs on the plates 10 to engage opposite sides of the arms 8. The shares may have horns or cut-out portions, Fig. 3-5 (not shown). Specifications 900,483 and 900,484 are referred to.
