Abstract
856,623. Combine-harvesters. RANSOMES SIMS & JEFFERIES Ltd., and JARVIS, J. S. Nov. 8, 1957 [Nov. 8, 1956], No. 34221/56. Class 6(3). In a combine-harvester the header 1 is pivoted to the harvester-body 3 and is adjustable relatively thereto by the action of a hydraulic ram 11 pivoted to a swinging bracket 8 on a cross-shaft 9, the bracket being connected to the header 1 by a link 6. The other end of the ram 11 is pivoted, at 12, to a pair of arms 13 pivoted ,at 14, on the main frame and carrying a pad 15 which bears against an adjusting screw 16 threaded through a fixed cross-member. Adjustment of the screw thus sets the lowest point of the stroke of the ram and therefore the lowest point of adjustment of the header. In a modification the arms 13 are omitted and the pivot 12 is received in slots in the fixed members 17 and can be screwed along the slots by the screw 16 which bears directly on the end of the ram, Fig. 3 (not shown).
