897,296. Beet harvesters. MASSEY-FERGUSON (GREAT BRITAIN) Ltd. Sept. 10, 1958 [Sept. 19, 1957], No. 29506/57. Class 6(3). [Also in Groups XXX and XXXI]. After an implement S, such as a beet harvester, has been connected to pivots 18 on the draft links 11 of a tractor T, a hydraulic ram 20, pivoted between the implement and a rod 13 of the tractor lift linkage, is retracted to tilt the implement about the pivots 18 to enable the top link 12 to be connected. The ram 20 is then disconnected from the implement and connected to a pivot having the same axis as pivot 18 to augment the tractor lift system, the dimensions of the tractor ram and the ram 20 being chosen to provide a substantially constant lifting force over the whole lifting range.
