Abstract

899,928. Travelling wave tubes. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. Dec. 5, 1960 [Dec. 3, 1959], No. 41762/60. Class 39(1). The delay line of a travelling wave tube comprises a stack of alternate symmetrical magnetic and asymmetrical non-magnetic laminations, forming a circular waveguide. The baffle plates 3 take up <SP>1</SP>/ 3 -<SP>2</SP>/ 3 of the area of the opening and are arranged interdigitally. 5 are beam passage apertures. Laminations 2 are of magnetically soft material, 1 of non-magnetic material. The device is a generator or amplifier and an axial magnetic field focuses the beam. The construction may be as in Specification 880,197.
