Abstract
899,436. Electric motors. RYLAND (MANCHESTER) Ltd. Oct. 3, 1960 [Oct. 27, 1959], No. 36304/59. Class 35. [Also in Group XIX] A revolution-direction indicator for a motordriven pump having an end cap 8 provided with a push-button 14 formed with a projection 23 to engage a recess 22 in the motor spindle 6, has sealing rings 19, 20 between the pushbutton 14 and a sleeve 12 in a bore 10 in the cap 8. When pressed inwards to engage the spindle 6 the button 14 indicates the direction of rotation. The button may also be used for rotating the spindle 6 by forming two or more peripheral slots therein to be engaged by corresponding projections on a knurled handle, Fig. 3 (not shown).
