Abstract

899,417. Spring catches. MONTAL WATCH FITTINGS Ltd. March 1, 1961. No. 7551 /61. Class 44. A clasp for a bracelet comprises two channel-shaped members 10, 16 each pivoted to one end of a link 13 formed with ratchet teeth 14, and a channel-shaped slide 21 movable along the member 10 and provided with a leaf spring 23 for engaging the ratchet teeth 14 when the clasp is closed by, snapfastening the member 10 over the member 16. Thus the slide 21 provides a means of adjusting the length of the bracelet. In order to prevent the slide from becoming completely disengaged from the member 10 when the clasp is open, the sides of the slide are stepped at 29 to abut against corresponding steps in the inturned portions 24 of the sides of the member 10. The member 16 is provided at its free end with a hook 17 and leaf-spring keeper 18 to facilitate attaching the clasp to a bracelet.
