Abstract
898,686. Haymaking machines. VAN-DER LELY N.V., C. May 27, 1959 [June 20, 1958], No. 18064/59. Class 6(3). A haymaking machine comprises a frame 1 mounted on ground-wheels 17, 18, 49 and carrying a plurality of rake-wheels 30-33 each rotatable about a fixed axle, each fixed axle having a number of alternative positions of vertical adjustment, The rake-wheel axles, Fig. 3, are cranks, such as 26, each crank having a crank-pin 34 of hexagonal section which is inserted in a corresponding hole in one of the bearings 22-25 which are carried on the ends of arms 4, 5, 6, 8 projecting perpendicularly from the frame. The bearings are of Y-shape to provide an alternative position for each rake-wheel, for tedding, (shown dotted in Fig. 1 for the wheel 33). A spring- loaded pin, Fig. 4 (not shown), is mounted at the junction of the limbs of each bearing to engage a groove 36 in the axle 26, in either position, to retain the axle in position. The ground wheel 18 is connected to the drawbar 21, the ground-wheel 17 is a lockable swivelwheel and a third wheel 49 is carried on an arched beam 50 extending over the rakewheels. The frame includes a piece 7 which is connected by flanges 9, 10 to adjacent parts of the frame and can be removed to reduce the working width of the implement. Specification 898,687 is referred to.
