Abstract
898,491. Dry-cooling coke. DIDIERWERKE A.G. May 26, 1960 [May 26, 1959], No. 18611/60. Class 51 (2). Plant for dry-cooling coke comprises a cooling chamber I divided by partition walls 19 into compartments I6-I8, each connected to mains leading cooling inert gas to and from a steam generator III, and each having discharge shoots I2 feeding coke on to a conveyer I20. The cooling gas is circulated from the steam generator III by a fan, through ducts I3 leading to apertured distribution channels in the lower side walls of each compartment, said gas leaving the compartments through ports I11 feeding upper plenum chambers I13 with return connections to the steam generator. Transverse connections I14 in the partition walls IG connect the front and back chambers I13. The circulating blower is automatically switched off and on when the sealed cover I1 is removed for charging of coke from a coke-car L and replaced. Discharge shoots I2 each have rotary discharger I15, a compartment I16 with a water-sealed air lock I17 and a spray I19 to complete cooling of the coke as it falls on to the conveyer I20.
