Abstract

The invention comprises amines of the general formula <FORM:0897693/IV (b)/1> in which R1 and R2 each represent a hydrogen or halogen atom, and acid addition salts thereof, and the preparation thereof by reducing appropriate nitriles and, if desired, converting the products into their addition salts with inorganic or organic acids. b ,b ,b -Triphenyl-propionitriles of the general formula <FORM:0897693/IV (b)/2> are prepared by condensing appropriate triphenylcarbinols with cyanacetic acid. The invention also comprises antibacterial and antifungal preparations comprising the amines or their salts in admixture or conjunction with a pharmaceutical carrier. They may take the form of gelees, powders, ointments, pastes, mixtures that require shaking, tinctures, solutions or suspensions. Specification 853,785 is referred to.
