Abstract

897,650. Staple tackers. SWINGLINE Inc. Sept. 5, 1958 [April 10, 1958], No. 28569/58. Class 89(3) A staple tacker comprises a frame F, a spring loaded driving ram D, movable ram actuating means including an operating lever L and a trigger T adapted to move the ram D against its loading spring 12 and then release the ram to drive a staple, staple containing means SC carrying staple propelling means FW the staple containing means SC being displaceable rearwardly of the frame into a staple loading position, locking means 122 on the staple containing means for releasably locking it in a position in which staples are fed to a raceway RW, and a leaf spring LS having an intermediate portion anchored to the frame F, one end portion 67 operatively associated with the trigger T and the other end portion 68 operatively associated with the locking means 122. A pivoted manipulator LA is provided for raising the end of the portion 68 of the spring LS from the locking means 122 to release the staple carrier from its locked position. A laminated shock absorber AV, of the type disclosed in U.S.A. Specification 2,746,044, is secured in the frame beneath the ram D.
