Abstract

1312875 Cartridge actuated fastener driving tool HILTI AG 5 July 1971 [28 Aug 1970 31356/71 Heading B4C A cartridge actuated fastener driving tool comprises a piston 9 guided, in a fastener driving stroke by a member 1a and a member 8 including a cartridge chamber 5. The member 1a includes a channel 15 which permits introduction of a fastener magazine 17 and fasteners (e.g. nails 16) into bore 7, and a channel extension 15d which permits passage therethrough of the magazine portion from which nails have been driven. A recess 9c in the leading end of the piston 9 receives projections 16b on the nails, and after a nail has been fired, upon actuation of trigger 3, the member 8 is moved relative to member 1a against bias of spring 14. Release of handle 12 will allow the member 8 to return to its initial position, and, due to friction ring 13, the piston will return with the member 8. The fastener magazine is fed stepwise by means not shown, and the tool may include a cartridge magazine.
