Abstract

896,765. Making electric connectors. KENT MFG. CORPORATION. April 6, 1960, No. 12199/60. Class 83 (2). The female part of a connector is made from sheet metal and has a resilient platform 50 to engage the male part. The platform is produced by making two parallel shearing cuts in dies 40 and 42 and displacing the strip of metal therebetween a distance as great as the thickness of the stock (Fig. 5). The strip is then operated on by dies 60 and 62 (Fig. 7) which force the metal of the strip back through the stock and form it to a wide V-shape 50 on the reverse side.
