Abstract

1321140 Electric couplings SIEMENS AG 19 April 1971 [26 Feb 1970] 21669/71 Heading H2E An electrical connector for use in establishing electrical connection between individual screening elements which are bolted together comprises a sheet of conductive material provided with sharp cutting edges extending from each face to bite into the surface of the screening elements when the components are forced together. The connector can take the form of expanded metal mesh, domes punched out of a sheet like a nutmeg-grater, or projecting rectangular or triangular tabs punched out of a strip. Extra cuts can be provided adjacent the cut-outs to enhance the biting action. The projections preferably project at an angle of 45 degrees to the plane. The conductivity of the connector may be improved by the addition of a surface layer of gold or silver.
