Abstract
895,125. Printing-machines. KLEINEWEFERS, P., [trading as KLEINEWEFERS SOHNE, JOH.]. Oct. 28, 1959 [Aug. 5, 1959], No. 36530/59. Class 100(2) A printing cylinder assembly removable from the machine as a unit comprises a printing cylinder 2, a container 9 for colour, a cleaning brush, and a reciprocable doctor blade 12. The container has a sheet metal shell 9a partially encircling the cylinder 2 the container being filled by pumping the colour through hoses or by pouring it into a hopper. An adjustable blade 11, e.g. of synthetic material, forms a seal with the cylinder 2, while a brush 32 removes fluff from the cylinder 2. The doctor blade 12 is fixed to a bar 13 rotatably mounted by journals 14 adjustable by a device 15, 16 towards and away from the cylinder 2. A length of elastic foil 17 secured to the bar 1-3 and container 9 acts as a seal. Pneumatic diaphragms 23 around the peripheries of the end walls 20 of the container are inflatable to act as seals. The container 9 is secured to the cylinder 2 by bearing sleeves 18 on the journals of the cylinder 2. Assemblies are located around the periphery of an impression cylinder I (Fig. 1 not shown) by studs 21, Fig. 5, which engage abutments 22 (Fig. 3, not shown) on the machine frame. Assemblies removed from the machine are cleaned, adjusted and stored on a truck (Fig. 8, not shown) provided with a hose 31 supplied with cleaning liquid by a pump 30 connected to a tank 29.
