Abstract
Fine-grained carbon or alloy steel containing less than 1,7%C. also contains 0,001% to 0,05% Ca after treatment while molten with an alloy containing .Ca.15-40% .Fe.4-60% .one or more of Al, Si.5-55% of each .Mn.5-55% of each .Ni.0- 5% <TABS:0894499/II/1> It is preferable to use with the alloy either calcium or magnesium fluoride as flux. An alloy steel according to the invention may contain one or more of Si, Mn, Ni, Co, Cr, Cu, Al, W, Mo, V, Ti and Zr.
