Abstract

Glass fibre yarns are dyed by first bulking the yarn, then passing the bulked yarn through a dispersion of a finely divided inorganic pigment in an aqueous or volatile organic liquid medium, and finally drying the yarn. The so-dyed yarn is woven into a fabric which is then heated to fuse the pigment into the glass and a pigment may be used which develops a colouration due to the heating. Specification 732,929 is referred to.
