Abstract

1,134,703. Dyestuff fixation on full width textile webs. ARTOS DR. ING. MEIERWINDHORST K.G. 11 Feb., 1966 [18 Feb., 1965], No. 6016/66. Heading D1B. A process for the continuous dyeing of full-width textile webs including impregnating a web with a dyestuff, passing the web between squeezing rollers, drying the web to a moisture content of not more than 30%, further drying to a residual moisture content of 1-4%, heating the web to the temperature required to fix the dyestuff and holding the web at the fixation temperature for a further period of time, the further drying, heating and fixation taking place at atmospheric pressure and in a medium consisting of at least 80% of superheated steam, the remainder of the medium if any being air. In examples polyamide fibres, cotton and polyester/cotton mixture are dyed with disperse, reactive and disperse/reactive dye mixture respectively.
