Abstract

1509004 Continuous dyeing of textile webs VEPA AG 17 June 1975 25698/75 Heading D1B A method of continuously dyeing or printing webs of material, the basic fibres of which, during fixation of the dye liquor and/or printing ink under saturated steam conditions are liable to undergo longitudinal shrinkage, comprises subjecting the web to a heat treatment, before application of the dye liquor and/or printing ink, which causes the shrinkable fibres to shrink to their maximum extent prior to application of the dye liquor and/or printing ink. Heating is preferably by air or steam at above 105‹C, especially 120-130‹C, with the heating medium being sucked through the web. The material is preferably tufted carpet webs, particularly with a backing of polypropylene.
