Abstract

1,194,904. Space dyeing undrawn yarns. KLINGER MFG. CO. Ltd., 31 july, 1967 [2 Aug., 1966], No. 35061/67. Headings D1B and D1L. Undrawn yarn is space dyed 'by applying a dye to the undrawn yarn in a space dyeing process followed by removal of excess solvent, e.g. by heating, setting the dye, e.g. by dry heat or dry steam, washing, drying and drawing the yarn, other treatments with texturising agents or yarn improvement additives may 'be employed before the yarn is drawn. In the figure yarns 10 are fed to a dyebath 11 to be immersed by roller 12 then to a further dyebath 15 to pass between intermittently impressing rollers 13 and 14 giving intermittent dyeing, then excess solvent is removed iby I.R. heater 16 followed by setting chamber 17, washer 18, drier 19, past pulley 20 to drawing rollers 21 and cheese 22.
